Cage lamps and Wiggle lamps on show at The Playroom Gallery in ‘Cloth and clay’ October, 2024.

‘Cage lamps’ consist of two electrical artworks that both interrupt and project light, stretching the shadows of these forms into the space that they are exhibited in. Pushing the making material to its limits, the cages contradict the once soft but still thin clay structures as if they almost may still collapse. Coated with glaze and nail varnish, the sculptures prod fun at the humble house light and exist as extroverted alternatives here in the exhibition.
