Collage in paper pulp, keyrings, old flat keys
A new work I showed in ‘Strange clouds’ an exhibition curated by @katetookaphoto at hArts Lane in South London.
The shape of these pieces of large recycled paper came to me in a dream, perhaps an echo of the many small churches I saw dotted around the mountains of Tinos in October last year. Each key on the metallic chain that cuts through the two sheets of paper represents all the many places I’ve lived in London over the years, FLAT in its nature the paper is SHARED separated and remade. Old drawings dance along the embossed surfaces with hardly-there shapes holding a moment for pause, receipts bleed into the purple of the pulp and the forms float upon the brick wall of an old horse stable (now an exhibition space).
