Nobody Talked (Edition 3)
London

A live performance hosted by Nobody Talked, a gathering of people came together in an outdoor woodland in East London. Artist LuSay reflects on the resource of 'wood' from its beginnings as a tree into the human made resources we encounter in our daily lives, from human constructed timber to the humble pencil and paper. The invitation of collaborators at the beginning of the 20 minutes performance involved audience members, asking them to draw in response to the sonic scape and collaboratively create a visual score. Using branch pencils made by the artist, the drawings vibrations were translated through contact microphones and woven together with words and harp strings. Known as a 'Kantele' the five-string Finnish instrument translates in English to 'The Singing Tree'.
