Family studio at Drawing Room gallery in Bermondsey, South London, October 2024.

Holes in paper created new viewing points to connect individually-made artworks to the whole installation.

Blue mesh from a construction site was paired with projected reference images to share context with those visiting the family stufio session.

Prodding fun at the familiar construction sites we see all around London and my own connection of working with the Drawing Room gallery over its many years of varied geographies and developing gallery site, families were invited to explore the fence as a grid to frame, connect and expand their drawings through. A response to Emma MacNally’s exhibition currently on show at the gallery, this installation positioned the studio as an everchanging environment for collaborative making, a space to push the limits of how big a drawing can be and consider mark making through many visual layers.
